More Quotes of Sri Sri Ravishankar

August 22, 2008

‘Is enlightenment really possible for the average person? Yes. Big Yes. Enlightenment is very possible for the ordinary individual. Actually it is easier than for some one who thinks that they are special ….whenever someone is ordinary, simple, innocent and natural, that is enlightenment’

‘THE day you feel hopeless, horrible, and worse, on that day get out of your room and ask people, What can I do you for you ? that service you have done that day will bring a revolution inside you. It will change your whole gramophone record.’

‘LOVE is seeing God in the person next to us, and meditation is seeing God within us.’

‘THE more we open ourselves, the more room we will have for God to fill us’

‘A PRAYER Give me not thirst if you cannot give me water. Give me not hunger if you cannot give me food. Give me not joy if I cannot share. Give me not the skills if I cannot put them to good use.’

‘IN science you have knowledge first, and then FAITH follows. In spirituality, faith comes first, and then Knowledge follows. For example, the knowledge that pesticides and chemical fertilizers are good for plants came through science, and people had faith in it, and all over the world they were used. And then another knowledge came that they were not good and the faith shifted to organic farming. The same with antibiotics. The knowledge brought faith, the knowledge changed, and then faith changed.’

‘ENLIGHTENMENT is the very core of our being; going into the core of our self and living our life from there. We all came into this world gifted with innocence, but gradually, as we became more intelligent, we lost our innocence. We were born with silence, and as we grew up, we lost the silence and were filled with words. We lived in our hearts, and as time passed, we moved into our heads. Now the reversal of this journey is enlightenment.’

‘ IT is the journey from head back to the heart, from words, back to silence; getting back to our innocence in spite of our intelligence. Although very simple, this is a great achievement. Knowledge should lead you to that beautiful point of “I don’t know.” The purpose of knowledge is ignorance. The completion of knowledge will lead you to amazement and wonder. It makes you aware of this existence. Mysteries are to be lived, not understood. One can live life so fully in its completeness, in its totality.’

‘ ENLIGHTENMENT is that state of being so mature and unshakable by any circumstance. Come what may, nothing can rob the smile from your heart. Not identifying with limited boundaries and feeling “all that exists in this universe belongs to me,” this is enlightenment.’

‘OUR breath plays a very important role. The breath is the connecting link between the inner world of the mind and the outer world of body and environment. You see, there are seven levels of existence, body, mind, intellect, memory, ego and being. Meditation works by bringing an effort from the level of being to the mind. With the breath we bring this effect to the physical level as well.’

‘LET it be. If the ego is there, just embrace it, take it.’

‘FEAR is egocentric. Worship is the only way to let go of the fear. In worship you say, “It’s all you, and you, and you.’

‘OUR ego wants to do something that is very difficult. The ego is not ready to accept something simple, something natural, something that is easily available. The nature of the ego is to do difficult things, not simple ones’

‘THE Divine is not an object of the ego. It doesn’t demand from you something that is impossible for you. You don’t have to do something that you cannot do. No need for that at all.’

‘WHEN the ego dissolves, all discomforts go away with the ego. Discomfort is not because of “something;” it is because of ego — a separated-ness.’

‘THE direction of life is towards one thing: that is love. You be prosperous and have no love, that prosperity has no value. You are on spiritual path but you don’t experience, then that spiritual path is no path, it is very dry: it’s all up here.’

‘THE secret is hidden somewhere very deep, and that is what we can call the Divine Love — that love which is so total, which is so complete, and which is so fulfilling.’

‘LOVE, the Divine Love, everyone is looking for such a love that never dies. As time goes it seems to be dying out. You see? Love dies out as time goes. But we are looking for some love that stands the time — the old, ancient, strong, powerful Love.’

‘WHEN we express love too much, then also it disappears, dies out. It’s like when you keep the seed on the surface of the soil, not a little deep inside, it doesn’t grow.’

‘THE purpose of every practice — spiritual practice, meditation, breathing techniques, and kriya, all this — is to uncover something that blocks the expression of Divine Love.’

The folowing Sutras, Compliments of:

Desire for Happiness

Your desire for pleasure or happiness makes you
unhappy. You examine—whenever you are miserable or
unhappy, behind that is your wanting to be happy.

Become Free

Before this earth eats you up, become free—free from
this feverishness that is gripping your mind, free
from this craving for happiness.

Unlimited Joy

Your mind is not reasy for limitations. It wants
unlimited joy, unlimited pleasure—which the five
sense cannot give you.

Love Doesn’t Stay

Everyone loves in this world.Everything loves. But
that love does n’t stay too long as love. It
immediately becomes hatred, almost immediately. But
yoga is that skill, that preservative, that maintains
that love as love throughout.

Wrapping Paper

Mind is that cover that is holding the Divine, the
Divinity within us. Once that wrapping paper is
unwrapped, you find, “Oh, this beautiful gift is here
within us!” You know, it’s like everyone is given a
Christmas package, a beautiful package, and they live
with the beautiful without even opening it.

Eliminate the Cause

Eliminate the cause, the very root of negativity in
us. Instead of rubbing the mind with a positive
thought, go deep into yourself through the breath,
through meditation, and cleaning the system.

Belonging

You can’t cultivate the “sense of belonging”. You drop
the stresses and fear—it comes in. You already
belong to this entire existence. You ‘re not separate.

Mind is a Field

Mind is not just in one location. Mind is a field,
like an electric field. Like an electromagnetic field,
it’s present all over.

Garbage Collectors

A master doesn’t need any favor from you. He just
could take all that anguish and garbage which you
cannot lift by yourself, free you from that. All
enlightened masters on this planet are garbage
collectors. They do nothing other than collect the
garbage.

Suffering

Suffering is a product of limited knowledge.

You Think You Know

You think you know the world and “This is it”. That is
the biggest problem. This is not just one world; there
are many layers in this world.

Only You

One one lever there are individuals everybody is
different—they ‘re young, old, intelligent, wise,
dull and all types. One one level we have different
types, but on a deeper level there is only you. Only
you, nothing else.

Longing

When you give a space, the longing in you increases,
whether it is for your spouse,or for God, or for
Guru—whatever. And when there is longing, your love
becomes really strong,powerful,unshakeable.

Partial Knowledge

Shadows appear very big, much bigger than you, but
they have no existence. Smaller the light, bigger the
shadow appears. If it is total darkness, then also
there is no shadow. So partial knowledge,a partial
light, partial vision, brings the shadow. And it makes
the shadow appear very huge, very big. But know it is
just a shadow.

Forgiveness

Forgiveness shield and protects your mind, your
spirit, from being violent.

Just Happening – Surrender

You are a happening in this ocean of consciousness.
Your heart beats by itself; you’re not making it beat.
Your breath moves by itself, sleep comes, you feel
hunger, you feel thirsty, you feel good, you feel bad.
All these phenomenon are happening in your life. When
this realization comes, a deep relaxation, a trust, a
feeling of “at home” and fullness arises in you. That
is surrender.

Nothing to lose

What are you afraid of ? What do you think you will
lose ? Just wake up and see you have nothing to lose
in the first place ! And, even if you think you have
something, how long can you hold on to it ?

Surrender is Not

Surrender is not an act. It’s not again and again
trying to bow down and say, “Oh, I am surrendering,
I am surrendering.” Saying that to yourself a hundred
times—that is not surrender.

Surrender Is

Open your hands up—that is surrender. It is your
very nature.

God is Not

God is not the object of sight; you can never see
God. God is not an object of hearing. God is not an
object of smelling or tasting. God cannot be perceived
through your senses, nor through the mind.

God Is

God is the Seer himself. Who sees—that is God.

Seeing God

You can live God. You can be God. But you cannot
“see” God, perceive God as an Object

Quotes of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

August 22, 2008

Quotes of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar
Following are a few famous quotations of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar:

Divinity

How far to heaven? Just open your eyes and look. You are in heaven.

You are Divine. You are part of me. I am part of you.

You have been given the highest blessing, the most precious knowledge on this planet. You are the Divine Self; you are part of the Self. Walk with that confidence. It’s not arrogance. It’s, again, Love.

Your mind is trying to find an escape and doesn’t want to rise to that level to which the master is trying to raise you, trying to pull you up.

Fear and Desire

Want, or desire, arises when you are not happy. Have you seen this? When you are very happy then there is contentment. “Contentment” means “no want”.

“Want” is always hanging on to the “I.” When the “I” itself is dissolving, “want” also dissolves, disappears.

Behind everything is your ego: “I, I, I, I.” But in seva there is no “I,” because it has to be done for someone else. It is for the need of the time, or surrounding people, that you do it.

So what if somebody recognizes you: “Oh, you are a wonderful person.” So what? In that person’s mind that thought came and went. It is also finished. That mind has gone. Maybe they keep an attraction for you for some days, some months, so what? That also goes it also goes.

Much energy is wasted in trying to charm others. And in wanting to charm – I tell you, the opposite happens.

Self-Control

By self-study, by observing, by being hollow and empty, you become a channel – you become a part of the Divine. You are able to feel the presence of the Divinity. All the different angels and devas, all these different forms of our consciousness, start blossoming.

Some feeling came into you, unpleasant feeling, and you said, “Should not come, it should not come!” Doing that, you are resisting it. When you resist, it persists. Just observe. See, “Oh!” Go deep into it. Dance; stand up on your feet and dance. Be intoxicated; move intoxicated.

Life is nothing to be very serious about. Life is a ball in your hands to play with. Don’t hold on to the ball.

Meditation is the comfort in Life.

“You see how a plane moves through clouds, fog and mist as it lands on to a landing strip. Its focus is on a narrow strip and does not mind all the obstacles in its way. You too should be untouched by the difficulties and keep on the track of your path”… SRI SRI..

Memorial Trip on Memorial Day!contd…

December 14, 2006

The gang headed towards American Observation Tower for more photography and sightseeing. All unmarried especially unengaged people were busy giving their poses in front of the falls view. They wanted to market themselves better ;-) Bodybuilders were showing their muscles and probably trying to compare the size of muscle and curveture of the horseshoe fall. Girls were taking infinite pictures in the same pose and deleting twice as much pictures because they didn’t like them. The only married couple in our group was busy taking their own snaps while rest of the group was attempting to take a group snap. I was busy in video recording the minute details of the falls and overall atmosphere. As always there were less number of glares than the number of people and people started exchanging them for every picture. Everyone captured at least 50 snaps from their cameras and wasted(?) 50% of the battary. punters like me, naresh, sidh were taking snaps of other beautiful girls just to be proud of our trip.

Some power play!

It was already 10 past 2 and everyone was as hungry as a bear! Everyone was saying that he’s thirsty and wanna get some water and end up in buying burgers , sandwitches and much more. Nobody wanted to agree that he’s hungry but give reasons like, ohters  are eating something so do I ;-) . Enthu people like Danish were making all attempts to pull them out from the food court and leave for next destination. Girls and the only family already started ordering lunch and ice-screams as if lunch was the only destination in their life. Finally everyone agreed that they must spend some time in the food court and started their lunches. The whole group was scattered into bits and pieces. To add more complications, Mamu and Kabir went to change clothes. They thought that they won’t get wet later at all. After extended long session of lunch we made couple of unsuccessful attempts to catch the trolly but no one was sure, which direction to go. After leaving 2-3 buses in the arguments we all entered in a bus and came to know that 2 are missing from the group. To our faith the bus was going in a wrong direction but we did not get down. It took half an hour more as it made a whole big circle to reach our final destination, Cave of the winds.

I did not know that Cave of the winds would be the last attraction of our trip. Never expected the long day could end so soon. Nobody else would have expected so unless we saw a long long queue. I think that’s was the longest queue I saw in US. I saw even longer queues of planes at Chicago airport, but this was all Desi people waiting for their final destiny. I realised that Niagara could be compared with Amernath or Gangotri in India where everyone wishes to visit at least once in their life. Most of the crowd was desi but the queue was somewhat non-desi style:-) No rushing or pushing and everyone quietly waiting for their turn. Pandu, me Siddharh were enjoying ice cream and haging out in the park while everyone else was jealeous on us.

Finally we reached the entrance after waiting for more than 2 hours in the queue. Entrance of the area was like a cave and for a moment I thought is it something we were waiting to view from so long!!

While watching the beauty of waterfall from outside for whole day I always felt to get wet under it.  I thought it was my madness as   usual. Sometimes I like to jump from a bridge into the water too, just to experience the fun ;-) This dream was coming true when I saw people standing below the waterfall and enjoying. That’s Cave of the winds. Its really amusing to see the huge wooden staircase set up for  tourists to reach the falls.  Climbing up for around 200 feet we reached the fall. It was little scary to go down the fall strightaway. By this time it was almost sunset and temperature was dropping rapidly. Reaching down the waterfall was unbeliable experience. Too cold water with a great force was not allowing us to even speak out. The water had so much force that I thought it might generate electricty in my body ;-) It was so funny to see stunning faces of each other. Nobody was in a position to speak or express their feelings, but was running again n again towards the waterfall.  After spending long enough time near the water shivering and whispering, we headed back.  Everyone badly wanted some heat and started running into coffee shops and other shops.

That was unfortunately the last destination in our fascinating trip. It was almost 9 pm and everyone was too tired and wet. Within no time, we reached to the hotel to change clothes and headed for the dinner.  Unilke previous night, this night was all different. Everyone just ran into bed as soon as they reached the hotel back. Next day, everyone wanted to enjoy their memories, sharing videos and 100s of pics. After exchanging all the pics and packing up, we headed back to our real life :-(

This trip was the warmest welcome to the summer in US. It opened all doors to plan more summer activities  and get togethers. As expected, hangover lasted for at least one week. Sound of the waterfall lasted for more than that. I never ever wanted to come back to the real world. Time was just spent in T breaks,  Lunch breaks and other informal breaks, just to discuss about the trip. That also followed a chain of mails and planning for the next destination.  We  had to accept the hard facts of the life, being away from friends  and doing work. The work started with a lot of inputs from team mates to figure out what was I working on ;-) But at the back of mind, everyone was planning for our next gala trip!!

Memorial trip on memorial day!! contd.

October 14, 2006

Sound impressions it left on my ears were echoing for the whole night.  Even being miles aways  from the falls, i was able to hear the sound of water. Nobody wanted to sleep but wanted to party for the whole night. King of Ongole , “Ongole ka raja”, was leading the party. And when he leads the party, everyone else sits quiet and listens. Ongole ka Raja entertained us with his famous dialogs, ”Loha garam hai!  Hatoda maar do!!”,”Saara shahar muze Raja ki tarah jaanta hai” amd much more.  Our dear friend Ravi had become like Abhimanyu. He knew way out from his room but didn’t able to remember his room number. “Aur uss chakkar mein mai aur Kabir gurkha ban ke rah gaye!”. Finally after having a lot of fun with and without drinks, everyone slept at around 4 am in the morning.

Next day was fully packed. We had to cover each and everything in one full day. Madhu and Chachu already got tickets for the day but as usual we did last moment planning for the most eventful whirlpool ride. We had only 10 mins in hand when we pulled out all 21 people in just 5 mins. That too especially girls who never expected to be ready in less than an hour.

After waiting for some time to get all 21 people in the same boat, we started the Whirlpool ride in great style. With a  style everyone in 29th SET batch proud of, screaming ”something something dhoom dhadaka, hoo haa hoo haa” we started our fun. ‘Something something’ were some Tamil words I could never pronounce, but screamed like anything saying Hoo haa hoo haaa. The captain on the boat was so much impressed with this ‘Jungly’ screaming that he promised to learn it and say when we go next time! After spending more that an hour near the Whirlpool we returned back with wet clothes and stunned faces :-)

No no!! They are heading towards Whirlpool !!!

copy-of-rafting4.jpg

Wowww……So coooool !!

After starting the day with the most adventurous ride the tempo of the group was set to very high. Everyone was absolutely sure that its going to be a lot of fun rest of the day. After collecting pictures, mementos and gifts we headed towards the falls.
Falls during the day was much different than the night view. In the morning we could see more waterfalls than I expected.  Nature has left an indelible mark on the Niagara region. The Canadian Falls, with a height of 54 metres (177ft), and the American Falls, at 56 metres (184ft) high, are true wonders of nature. The biggest waterfall is the Horse show fall which covers 80% of the waterfall at Niagara. Unfortunately we don’t get the best view of Horseshoe fall from US side compared to Canada side. To get more closer to the falls, tourists are allowed to go on goat and luna island.  The source of the Falls, the Niagara river has history of 12000 years when the whole area was covered to 1-2 km thick sheet of ice. The Niagara Escarpment, which was created by erosion is much older. The glaciers pressed down on the land during the last ice age and laid down layers of sediment, then the slow process of erosion of ice and water ate at the surface of the escarpment. The mighty river plunges over a cliff of dolostone and shale.

We headed towards the most awaited ride, Maid of the Mist. Maid of the mist is a boat ride which gives the closest view and feel of the waterfall. It goes very close to the Horseshoe fall where at one point it is surrounded with waterfall from three sides of the boat. We went 200 ft down by an elevator which took us to the bank of the river, which is starting  point of the boat.  They provided us with blue colored rain coats. Some guys were wondering why they were giving rain coats even though sky is clear!! Others were wondering what is the use of rain coat in so much mist. I was wondering why do I need a raincoat if there is so much fun in getting wet :-) ). It seems everyone was wondered for one reason or the other, probably because they were about see wonder of the nature from so close. If you are wondering what I’m writing here, don’t worry, you don’t have to wonder anymore :-)

Maid of the mist started from American side where first fall to see was American falls. Water falling from 177 ft was creating so much noise. Cool mist and wind was creating a romantic atmosphere. The commentary was going on describing the history of the falls, some statistical figures like the height, amount of water per second and some historical events like somebody trying to jump from the falls in a barrel etc. The commentary was setting the tempo at the same time it was little irritating as everyone wanted to rather enjoy the atmosphere. And after some time, the sound of the falls, noise in the boat never allowed the commentator to make his point at all :-) I’m sure everyone was thinking,” Why don’t you just shut off?!!” :-) ). To add more noise in the boat, we all started again with our trademark screaming,” hoo haa hoo haa”. Thank god, nobody pushed us out of the boat at that time.

As we were going closer and closer to the biggest waterfall, the Horseshoe fall, I realised the significance of the name of the boat. At this time it was merely a maid of the huge mist and waves in the water. It was almost impossible to see anything because of the mist and the wind. Neither anyone could hear anybody’s voice. Definitely the moment was supposed to be enjoyed and not to waste my time in speaking :-) I dared to risk my camera and took as many snaps possible, others were happy  hiding their cameras in the raincoat and take bluish pictures instead. The last point of the boat, the closest view of the fall where boat is surrounded by the waterfall from three sides, gives kind of a spiritual experience. I was feeling to stay there forever and enjoy the beauty of nature. I’m sure nobody wanted to go back except the captain of the boat. Everyone’s intentions were quiet  clear as they shouted loudly, “Oh Nooooo”, when the boat turned back. We turned from that spiritual place taking back as many memories as possible in our eyes, hearts, cameras, pictures, videos and much more.  Turning back with a strong decision to come back again and again and again.

On its return way, maid of the mist went closer to the American Falls just to give its feeling more closely. I bet any waterfall in the world would look very small after seeing Horseshoe fall, we felt the same seeing this american fall.  Looked like a formality to cover all falls during the ride. Now people were listening to the commentry. Probably it made more sense to listen after actually experiencing the fun.  Then started the photo-session as amount of the mist and subsequently the risk to expose cameras was reducing.  After trashing out the raincoats we headed back to the top from the same lift.

Memorial trip on memorial day!!

October 8, 2006

North America was showing its original face from last 5 months.  Temperatures below zero degrees had frozen everything including people’s moods. Same daily routines, wear as many clothes as possible, go to office and come back. Sunset at 4.30 pm would also feel them more sleepy and unergetic. These people were happily earning, working and eating delicious foods, but something was missing all the time. Something with a lot of enthu, something which would give their minds a break. Something they really wanted to enjoy. They wanted come out of the shell nature had created around them.

There were a lot of good memories at the back of their minds. It was a wonderful group of friends whose only definition of life was enjoy. They had already spent a lot of time together, working hard and enjoying harder. One fine day, this group started to break, as priorities were changing, work and responsibilities were changing and they had to adapt to these changes. It was definitely not a very happy moment when few persons had to leave the rest to reach new landmarks in their lives. But one thing they were absolutely sure of, they will meet somewhere, have a wonderful get together and recreate those happy moments again. Their definition of enjoy was spending time together. Place doesn’t matter. But what if they got a chance to get a beautiful place on the earth and the whole group. It would have been an heavenly experience, isn’t it?

As sun in the spring was repainting the world with beautiful colors, buds of ideas started to rise in their minds too.  As snow started to melt, rusting of their minds also started to vanish. Ideas started to flow like fresh water of molten snow overflowing rivers all over the places.  Everyone started  to put their ideas of reunion, places they can visit and much more.  Everyone has some ambitious plans at the back of their minds. Someone wanted to visit beaches, others wanted to go on Cruise. Someone wanted to visit Las Vegas and gamble, other wanted to go to Miami  and Hawaii beaches. Someone wanted to visit Moon and other wanted to visit international space station, which is not true ;-) . Then started the phone calls and conference calls, hot and sometimes fiery discussions or rather fights ;-) . They all wanted to reach a consensus which was not in picture for first couple of hours. After hours of so called discussions, they all decided to explore wonder of the world, one of the natures best creation, Niagara Falls.

Then started more realistic, focused and targeted discussions about the plan. First and  obvious question was hotelling, and people started to give their opinions.  Siddharth wanted to get accommodation in a five star hotel just across the falls. He wanted to see the falls from his window in the nights. Cost was least consideration. On the other hand few people wanted just a place to rest their bodies and sleep if possible. Mrunal Chachu had some realistic idea of a Hotel where we could have sufficient beddings and it should be cost effective. People like Pandu, never wanted to look for an hotel. In his ideas, why do we need to sleep if we are visiting such a beautiful place with so big crowd. All he needed was a peg of wine,  some place to sit, in worst case road is also fine if allowed and a company of friends surrounding him .  Mamu was playing a diplomatic role of supporting Chachu as well as Pandu but not supporting Siddharth saying, “why do you need to see falls if you want to sleep in the Hotel”.  I was thinking, how would I see the falls while sleeping even if we book the costliest hotel. Then realised that I can see the falls in Dreams!! and save some money too ;-) . Kabir and Danish did not have any opinion about accomodation, probably they were confused or trusting the organizers too much. And nobody else had rights to tell their opinions in this issue.

Arrangement for cars was another wonderful discussion. Everyone was dreaming to rent a charted aircraft and fly, or at least get Mercedes or BMW. I wanted to rent a mini bus and travel singing songs, dancing and shouting. None of the above options were realistic so we decided to drop them ;-) .  This time Siddharth wanted to rent a 10$ car which is the cheapest one. Probably he wanted to save money for renting a five star hotel. Mamu and I wanted a comfortable car as journey was long and little tiring. Pandu did not disclose about his plans till the last moments. We were expecting a convertable topless car, as he likes topless stuff. Our guess was not bad, as it was a luxury car having a window at the top. And as expected nobody else had rights to give their opinions.

Finally the day came. It was a memorial day long weekend and everyone wanted to make it really memorial :-) . All the planning like hotelling, tickets and everything else was done. People started from all over the places. Two starting points were decided for the trip. One was Hartford and one was our own Harleysville. Everybody else who was supposed to join these two groups was strictly told reach on the day before so that there should not be any delay. Siddharth started from Boston and reached Hartford on friday night. Naresh too did the same from New york. There was some drama going on at New Jersey. Our Fattu Singh was the hero doing some drama for his heroine. Pandu had to go there and resolve the Drama and bring Fattu and his heroine.  Everyone gathered at designated time at Harleysville and Hartford and fun started!

Journey started with songs, music and masti and much more. It was around 7 hours journey and we decided to meet at a center place Syracuse.  Hartford group did a dramatic pick up of Ravi whom they never met nor saw his picture. Everything was going according to the plan and we reached Syracuse. Real fun started here when people started expressing their pleasures in different ways. Embressing each other, shaking hands or just passing smiles were few of the observations. Syracuse city was like any other city in US with big roads but no people. There was a beautiful view of fountains and artificial waterfall and a lake. Photosession started with a great passion. Everyone was giving their special poses to make their presence felt in the pictures. Girls were especially excited to stand in front of camera and more importantly, see their own picture as soon as it was taken. After a long photosession, everyone realized that they wanted to have lunch. One Indian restaurant was found after a lot of efforts but to everyone’s fate, it was closed. One thing strikes everyone’s mind was ‘Dhaba’s. Why there are no dhaba’s in US? This is the boring side of travelling in US. We’ll get big and fast roads, powerful cars, cheaper fuel but no food. People had to satisfy with sandwiches, donuts and burgers. People shuffled their positions in the cars. Purva got an invite from couple of people saying,”aaja meri gadi mein baith ja, aaja meri gadi mein baith ja”, but she did not respond to anyone. All their efforts went in vain. finally shuffling came to an end.  After spending 3 hours against 1 Hr according to the plan, we all started our next half of the journey to reach  Niagara.

Next half of the journey was more enjoyable. After shuffling the places and meeting other people we started more fun. Dance in the car, loud music, video shooting and much more. It did not take more than 3 hours for us to complete the journey and reach our destimation, Niagara Falls!

We straightway went to see the night view of the falls. Falls makes its presence felt from a long distance. We could hear the big sound and its echo from a long distance. No doubt everyone was too excited to see the nature’s wonder. The place was surrounded with tall buildings of Hotels and Casinos lighting the whole sky. Huge building of hotel shariot on the canada side was attracting more attention that anyone else. A huge balloon was flying at one end of the sky floating in the air and inviting everyone to visit the place. As we were reaching closer to the falls, its roaring sound was increasing more n more. Now we could see big mist of the water occupying a major portion of the sky. The colorful floodlight were adding more attraction. It was looking like colorful clouds coming down to kiss the river. We were so excited to see the actual falls whose view was distorted by a huge group of people standing alongside the fence and making all efforts to see the waterfall. They forgot all sorts of formalities, so pushing each other, coming in front of others was looking very common. Tall persons like Siddharth could enjoy the from the distance while other like me and Purva were jealous on him for a long time, until we grabbed a place at the fence.

Every drop of water was shining in Red, Blue, Green, White and so many colors. Roaring sound of water, beautiful colors and sky covered by mist was creating an heavenly experience on the earth. Expressions on the faces of people with full of joy, surprise and passion were very much noticeable.  Everyone was busy looking at the falls, giving different poses for the photographs and making all unsuccessful efforts to take good pictures in dark. Few of them were using telescopes to get a closer view of the falls while others were enjoying the romantic moments with their partners. My whole group was dispersed within moments when everybody wanted to enjoy the beauty in their own way. I wanted to collect as many memories with me in the form of pictures, videos and much more. Unfortunately all the colorful lights were switched off after midnight and we had to head back.

We had a wonderful dinner in an Indian restaurant. Niagara is a de-facto holy place for all Indians visiting United States. That too the core Indian working force mostly gets a chance for a trip only on long weekends. So the place was crowded with so many Indian’s. We had to stand in the queue to have dinner at the Indian restaurant.  The dinner was refreshing our memories of parties  at ‘Temptation’ in New Bombay. ‘Temptation’ was our favourite destination for all sorts of parties. The owner of the restaurant had become friend of ours who used to give a lot of discounts for our group. He used to be so happy to see our group heading towards his restaurant, must be counting rupees in his mind :-) .  The party started with a lot of fun, remembering funny incidences and of course special PJ’s.
